Palatine Hill, Forum, and Colosseum (Monday, September 12th)

Early mornings are such a great time to see beautiful parts of Italian cities. We were so fortunate to see the splendor of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill prior to crowds taking over the site. These sites are located in the same archeological complex. Here are some of the images we saw:

The arc below was built after Rome laid siege to Jerusalem (specifically taking the menorah from the temple) around 70 AD:

There was so much information given by our tour guide at the complex. This can make understanding what you've seen overwhelming. With so much walking to be done, it was a nice relief to our feet to use the hop on-hop off bus to see various sites in Rome the rest of the afternoon.
